Our mission

The Japanese-language online-gambling content landscape has two structural problems. First, most ranking sites are reverse-engineered from affiliate commission rates — the best casino for the reader is rarely the casino on top. Second, content is often translated from English without addressing the things a Japanese player actually needs to know: JCB acceptance rates, PayPay routing, JPY-native support, Japanese-language chat response times, and the Japanese tax treatment of winnings.

DrollWolf addresses both. Every review starts with an editor opening their own account and using their own money. Every ranking decision is taken by editorial staff with no input from the affiliate side of the business.

Editorial policy

Independence

The ranking order on this site is decided by our 10-category editorial score and nothing else. Affiliate commission rates and contractual relationships play no part in deciding who ranks where. Operators that do not pay us a commission appear in the same ranking, scored the same way, if they meet the bar. No editor on this team has received cash, equity, or material gifts from any operator.

Hands-on testing process

Once full operations begin, every operator undergoes this audit before listing:

• Account opened in the editor's real name
• KYC duration and documents recorded
• At least 3 deposits (small / medium / large), timed
• At least 3 withdrawals, arrival timestamps recorded
• Japanese-language support contacted during business hours, at night, and on a weekend
• Welcome-bonus wagering attempted in good faith
• 30+ days of play, then account closure and final-balance withdrawal

Logs are kept internally and published incrementally on each review page as audits complete. Currently published scores reflect license credentials, third-party audits, and public data — they are provisional pending the full audit.

Re-testing cadence

Every listed operator is re-tested at least twice per year. We immediately downgrade or delist any operator on credible reports of withdrawal delays, unfair confiscations, license downgrades, or support deterioration. Reader reports are welcome at our contact form.

Advertising policy

DrollWolf is funded by affiliate commissions. If a reader clicks an outbound link on a review or comparison page and goes on to register and deposit at the operator, we may receive a commission. This costs the reader nothing — the price they see at the operator is the same as a direct visit.

Operating principles:

• Rank order is not determined by commission rate. Editorial score > commission. We do not move operators up the list for higher payouts.
• Sponsored links are marked. Affiliate links carry rel="sponsored" and are visually styled as "Visit site" CTAs, distinct from internal "Read review" links.
• Non-affiliated operators are reviewed fairly. If we don't have a commercial relationship with an operator but they're worth covering, we cover them.
• Negative reviews are published. If an affiliated operator has confirmed withdrawal issues or unfair terms, the review reflects it — even at the cost of the relationship.
